LLL Evening Meeting - Birth and the Early Days

  Come join us Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. at the River Park Branch library.  We will share our birth stories and how we adjusted to life with an additional little one in the family.  What when well?  What was difficult for you? Expectant women and babies are welcome!  This is the last meeting at River Park.  In January 2018 we will be moving to the Tutt Branch.

LLL Evening Mtg. Making it Work - Finding Support

Join us Tuesday, November 14 at 7 pm, River Park Branch Library. This meeting is not only for you mothers, but your partners and support people also.  How do we find support for breastfeeding? What role do partners play in our baby's lives?  What if they are gone for an extended time?  How do we make it all work, whether we stay home or return to a job? Come share your ideas and concerns.  Expectant parents, babies all welcome.

Join us Tuesday Evening at 7 pm, River Park Branch Library to share how your tips on Baby Wearing.  Bring your favorite baby carrier to demonstrate to others.  If you don't have one, no problem, we are happy to demonstrate for you. Expectant mothers and babies are all welcome.  Feel free to bring along any breastfeeding questions or concerns you may have.

Join us Tuesday, June 13 at 7 pm at the River Park Branch Library.  The topic will be sleep and other challenges. Bring your baby along with any other questions you may have. Also, feel free to enter the St. Joseph County Breastfeeding Coalition Annual Beautiful Baby Photo Contest.  It is an annual fundraiser for the coalition: All babies 24 months and under are eligible. Please include with your entry: Mom’s name and contact number Baby’s first name and age Online entries must be submitted by: Tuesday June 27, 2017. Photo entries must be submitted to: sjcbeautifulbaby@aol.com Late entries will be accepted at the fair, please bring photo to the Lactation Station. Winners will be notified by phone. Photos will be on display at the Lactation Station in the Hoosier Tire Commercial Building during the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair June 30th - July 08th 2017. Votes are $1 each or 6 Votes for $5, must attend 4H-Fair to vote.

Join us Tuesday, May 9 at 7 pm, River Park Branch Library, to share your thoughts on becoming a mother.  For some of you it will be your first mother's day next week.  How has your life changed since having your baby?  How do you find time to care for yourself when there is someone who needs so much of your time?  Expectant mothers and babies are welcome. Come share your thoughts, questions and concerns.

Come share your tips of how you manage to get out the door in the morning, find time to pump for your baby at work and manage household chores.  Or, if you are home all day with baby, how to you manage to get anything done?  No matter your situation, how do you find time to recharge you own battery and how do you get support?  Join us with your baby.  Expectant mothers welcome.

Join us Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the River Park Branch Library in South Bend. Come with your questions and tips on how to deal with fussy babies. What are some techniques you have found for calming a fussy baby?  How do you care for yourself when you too are stressed and tired? Bring baby with you, expectant mother welcome also.  Winter weather policy - if the library is closed due to bad weather, then we do not meet. If the library is open, we do meet. We are back at River Park Branch Library, Tuesday August 9 at 7 p.m. to discuss "Working and Breastfeeding".  Many of you are already back at work, and some of you will soon be returning to work outside the home.  What are some tips you can share with others? What are some challenges you find at work?  How do you streamline pumping time? What are the emotions you feel going back to work outside the home? Come share your experiences or come with questions. Location Change - Evening Mtg.

Our July meeting location will be First Unitarian Church, 801 East Washington, South Bend, 46617.  Washington is north of Jefferson and south of Colfax.  The church is on the corner of East Washington and St. Peters.  We will meet Tuesday, July 12 at 7 pm to discuss introducing solid foods and family nutrition. "Starting Solids and Family Nutrition" will be the topic four our meeting Tuesday, July 8 at 7 pm, River Park Branch Library.  What are some good starting foods to give a baby?   How can you tell when you baby is ready for solids?   What are some handy snacks to give a toddler?   What are you favorite, simple, nutritious family meals?   Bring baby along and join in the discussion.  We are also here to support you with any breastfeeding related questions or problems.

February Evening Meeting

Come join us Tuesday, Feb. 11, 7pm  at the River Park Branch library to talk about baby's first solid foods, good toddler snacks and nutritional meals for the entire family.  There will also be time for your questions and concerns.  We will also have materials for you to make a valentine for your special little one.

Introducing Solids

"Now What" - your baby is growing and needs more than your milk, how do you go about introducing complementary foods? How do about this?  What are some easy toddler snacks?  Any tips on how you have improved your entire family's nutrition?  Come share with or learn from other mothers, join us on     Tuesday, July 9th at 7pm.  Babies welcome and feel free to ask any other breastfeeding questions you have.
