Taking Care of Ourselves!

On Tuesday we'll be gathering at the Women's Care Center to talk about ways to care for ourselves in ways that don't disregard the needs of our babies and toddlers. What are some successes you've found for safe ways to exercise, eat right, sleep enough, and bring baby along for the ride? We'll have some babywearing carriers to try and all kinds of ideas and strategies to share. (Even some ideas for how to get that elusive shower!) As always, we will have room for your breastfeeding questions, concerns, and successes. See you on: Tuesday, July 24 at 10am Women's Care Center 360 N. Notre Dame Ave. (where it intersects with La Salle Ave.) South Bend, Indiana 46617

Starting Solids and Family Nutrition Meeting!

Image
Thinking about starting solids? Dealing with a picky toddler or preschooler? Wondering about how best to care for your own nutritional needs as a nursing mother? At this month's morning meeting we'll share ideas for introducing first foods and encouraging nutritious eating for ourselves and our children. One of the statements in the LLL Philosophy is " Good nutrition means eating a well-balanced and varied diet of foods in as close to their natural state as possible." Happily, in addition to being a LLL Leader, Tama is also a nutrition educator who can field all kinds of questions, and she'll  even have food to sample!  We'll start with our 15 minute video about Baby-led solids, and then move into our meeting. As always, we will of course have room for  your breastfeeding questions, concerns, and successes. We're looking forward to seeing you at 10am on Tuesday, July 17th Sunnyside Presbyterian Church 115 S. Frances Street

A father's unique relationship with his baby is an important element in the child's development from early infancy. " What are your thoughts on this? How has your family adjusted to having a baby in the house? Come tonight (Tuesday, July 10) to our 7 pm meeting at River Park Branch Library.
