La Leche League of South Bend

Mamas and babies can't breastfeed alone! We need a support network of those closest to us to help us make sure we are cared for as we care for our babies. Dads and other Partners can protect us from criticism, keep us fed, help us get help if and when we need it, and be our biggest cheerleaders during tough times. At our next meeting we'll share experiences and wishes for how we can create the most breastfeeding-friendly team between ourselves, our babies, and the other adults in our lives.  As always, we will have room for your  breastfeeding questions, concerns, and successes. What do you love about wearing your baby or toddler? What type of carrier have you always wanted to try? Is there a tricky back or side carry you need demonstrated? At the next La Leche League meeting some of the more experienced babywearers in our group will be ready to demonstrate and assist. Bring your carriers and try ours! We'll have ring slings, pouches, Mobys, woven wraps, Ergos, and more. Of course we always have space for your breastfeeding questions, concerns, and successes. We will be back at River Park Branch library, South Bend on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 pm.  Bring your baby and discuss with us "How do I make it all work: working and breastfeeding".  Are you going to return to work after your baby is born, or have you already done so? Come share you questions or your expertise.  We will also reserve some time for any questions or concerns you have on other breastfeeding and parenting topics.

Our monthly playgroup is coming up next week--please join us on Tuesday at the Main Library in downtown South Bend--we have the Humphreys room in the basement reserved where there is plenty of room for crawlers to crawl, big kids to play, and mamas and babies to cuddle, nurse, and chat. Our intrepid playgroup host Olivia (mama to Victoria and Dagny) will be on hand so that you'll know you're in the right spot! Feel free to bring toys to share or pop upstairs to borrow books and toys. And those of you with tiny babes or babes still in utero, please know that this playgroup is for you too!
