LLL Playgroup & Last Call for Photos!

We are thrilled to be working with a class at Saint Mary's College to put together our own video on Starting Solids for use at our meetings. We will be filming later this fall, and would love to include some of your still photos as well! If you have photos of your little ones enjoying food in the second half of their first year, particularly if they are feeding themselves, we would love to use them in the video! Please send them to this email address, along with a filled out copy of the Media Release, attached.

Also! Next Tuesday is October 6, which means it's time for our last outdoor playgroup of the year! Next month we'll be heading back inside to the Main Library, but next Tuesday we'll be at the park, where there is room for mamas to walk around with their wee ones snuggled in slings, toddlers to run, climb, and swing, and nice shady spots for babies and mamas to sit and visit. Dawn and little Elli will be there to greet you and let you know you're in the right place. Come on out and join us--no baby is too young for a mama to benefit from a playgroup! (Even those still inutero!)

At our next morning meeting we will be discussing that precious commodity for all parents--Sleep. LLL mtg-Fussy Babies/Myths & Misconceptions

We are so excited to meet with you in our new location for the 4th Tuesday of the month meeting--the Harris Branch Library! Come check out the new space, and we'll mark the event by enjoying the mother-to-mother support you all embody so well...and we'll even bring snacks to share! Whether or not you've ever felt like your baby might be colicky, fussy, or high needs, many breastfeeding mothers are surprised by how "needy" our babies are...until we compare notes with other families! At next week's meeting we'll talk about how our babies might not match our (or society's) expectations. We'll discuss what kind of myths and misconceptions are floating around about babies and breastfeeding, and how to remain confident in our parenting choices.
